Lots of the members TBB including me (eleanor!) attended the Young Adult Literature Convention in London on the 12-13th of June. We met so many lovely authors and saw lots of our blogging friends. We picked up loads of freebies so watch out for giveaways coming up soon! Below are some photos of the weekend including some of our cosplays, which, if I say so myself, were rather good.
Today many of us went to the City Of Heavenly Fire signing in London. It was up there with the divergent premiere as being one of the best days of my life!
I arrived and met Em and Michelle at Victoria before we took the tube to Leicester Square were the event was. We got soaked in the rain but we're British, so we're used to it. We managed to get this photo in between downpours.
We went into the cinema and Cassandra Clare and Sarah Rees Brennan read the voice mails of Magnus's phone after the break up in City Of Lost Souls. It was very funny but at some points I wanted to cry. There was a Q&A then and we found out loads: Cassie is a planner and sets out all the deaths and character plot lines from the start; City Of Ashes is still in planning, they are having to rewrite the script to make it more faithful to the book (YAY) and the series she is writing about Simon will take a similar form to The Bane Chronicles, appearing as e-books before being bound.
I got two books signed, City Of Heavenly Fire and Clockwork Angel. I would like to thank Cassie and Sarah for being so kind and friendly even though I was shaking and making a fool of myself. I was in shock and couldn't stop shaking. I gave a letter to Cassie. I can't believe that it happened, I still haven't registered it.
Afterwards we went to Forbidden Planet which I had never been to and it was AWESOME. I managed to buy the second TID Manga novel - even though I had no idea they existed. Of course we HAD to go book shopping so we went to Foyles, which we later found out had only opened that day! It did smell really good :) We had a really nice conversation with someone in the Young Adult section so hi if your reading this!
I want to thank everyone who made this day so perfect - I don't know how I can thank both authors and all my friends to make this day as wonderful as it was. Becoming a book-tuber/reviewer was the best decision of my life!!

TheBookBubble team and I had an amazing time at the COHF release party, it was lovely to meet up with everyone and even talk to some other awesome book bloggers and book tubers!
The event took place on Tuesday the 27th of May and we all got a copy of COHF a day before the rest of the UK, during the event we had the chance to have rune nail art, temporary rune tattoos and even a picture with their two rather attractive, shadow hunter models. After we all sat down to enjoy the city of bones movie. The experience was great and I really think they should make fangirl screenings a thing because it was fun to be able to call out quotes and random puns which only book fans would get.
I'm sad to see the mortal instruments come to an end and will miss Simon, Clary, Jace and the gang but I can't wait to see what other characters Cassie is going to create. Who knows, maybe we will still be here in 20 years celebrating Cassie's last ever book. ( Oka
London MCM is coming up next week and if you haven't made plans to go yet, I think you should. If you are a fan of comics, anime, gaming or just anything nerdy then It's the place for you.
I've currently made plans to go on the saturday and I might be pulling out the Shadow Hunter cosplay ( I can't decide whether to be boring or not ) and I'm really excited to explore it for the first time!
Lyndsy Fonseca star of Kick Ass, Dylan Bruce - Orphan Black and Meghan Ory - OnCe uPoN a TimE *squeals* are just a few people confirmed to be appearing along with lots of anime artists and merchandise sellers.

Signings often include special guests - Shailene was at Veronica Roth's London one - so double the excitement!
Also, myself, Em and Emily are going [Im not sure about everyone else yet], so make sure to come and say hi!
I'm sure you will be excited as I am to hear that in honour of 'city of heavenly fire', Cassandra Clare's sixth and final novel in the mortal instruments series, there is going to be a shadow hunter launch party in London on Tuesday the 27th of March.
Unfortunately the release date for COHF had to be pushed back a few days in the UK but with a ticket to this awesome experience you will get an early copy of the much anticipated finale.
With tickets priced at £15 and available through the waterstones website - http://bit.ly/COHFlaunchUK this is a sure bargain and great time to meet up with fellow British shadow hunters. Your tickets comes with a copy of the book along with a goody bag and everything on show during the event. Although Cassie herself will not be there she is going to be doing some signings in the UK this June.
She will be appearing at the hay festival in Wales this May, tickets are running out quickly so make sure to get yours to avoid disappointment ( and demon pox ) https://www.hayfestival.com/p-7471-cassandra-clare.aspx
Most of us here at the book bubble will be at London launch so make sure to say hi if you see us and tell us if you're going! Happy shadow hunting - Emily :3
Wait! What?! YOUNG ADULT LITERATURE CONVENTION? IN THE UK? Yes, you read that right! It's not very often that the UK hosts book events that everyone has a chance to attend, but, this year, thanks to the truly wonderful young adult author AND children's laureate: Malorie Blackman, our very own, London's, Earl's Court will be hosting the first ever YA (young adult) literature convention in a special section of London's Comicon (which held it's first event in 2004)! EEEEK!
We are all super-duper excited as Emily, Em and I have already booked our tickets to attend the Saturday event and the rest of us still need to! ;) (We bought the standard Saturday tickets just in case you were wondering!)
Another reason we're excited, aside from the fact that all us booklovers and authors and publishers and all the people that keep the spirit of the book alive are going to be in the same place, at the same time, but, that's right BOOKTUBERS! There are also a pretty darn fantastic line-up of booktubers attending YALC! WOOOHOOO! Make sure to drop us a comment or tweet us or instagram us to let us know if you're going; we cannot wait!
