I am in an strangely good mood at the moment as I just filmed a new video for my YouTube (eminthewoods, go check it out and I'll give you a cookie ;) ) And in my video the book Fangirl by the amazing Rainbow Rowell came up quite a bit so when I finished, the only book I really wanted to review today was Fangirl! I know it has been reviewed before on here (by Michelle) I don't see the harm in putting my opinion down too because everybody is different. Michelle's review is actually very good (despite what she says) and I suggest you go check it out as well!
Okay so personally I loved this book. Yeah its a little cliché and I am not really a big fan of contemporary but this book I generally loved. Cath was SO relatable at certain points I was actually considering if Rainbow Rowell had somehow observed my life from a distance and wrote it down in a book.
I also liked how she described Levi. At first Cath didn't find him attractive at all, what with his 'forty acre forehead' and his skinny frame. However as she got to know him she slowly realised that he actually was quite cute and she grew to love him through his personality, not immediate attraction which is something I seriously think needs to happen more in YA these days.
If you are quite a fanfiction-loving, quiet, book, shy person then this book is for you. It will make you laugh and smile and just generally cheer you up if you need it. Fangirl has truly earned No.1 space in my favourite stand alone books and I am super, super, super excited to meet the author at LFCC comiccon which is happening in a few weeks!
Till next week!
