My favourite thing about this book is the cover. I think the design is striking and I love it. Especially as on the first page where it is normally blank there is a black and white copy of the photo - however I don't think it fits the book very well. It's not where I imagined they are when they are drowning (that is in no way a spoiler).
Anyway onto the book. This books starts with quite a memorable phrase, "the woman I think is my mother" you then continue to learn about this boy who was with his brother and a girl when his brother drowned. His brother comes back to haunt him and tells him to kill the girl. As he has lost some of his memory from the drowning he starts to learn about his past and who this girl was and what he and his brother where like. This book made me a bit creeped out about going near water for a few days. I think I would have given this book 4/5 stars if it wasn't for the ending. I HATED IT SO MUCH. The end of this book ruined the story and was so disappointing. The book leads up to this big climatic event and then everything just goes back to normal and it's like nothing happened in the first place. LIKE WHAT NO IF YOU WERE WITH YOUR BROTHER WHEN HE DROWNED AND HE WAS HAUNTING YOU YOU WOULDN'T JUST GO BACK TO NORMAL. NO. ARGH!!!
Overall I liked this book even though it was a bit of an odd concept. I am just so disappointed about the ending.
